Some centres are run by the national park authorities and some by the local tourist boards, either way the staff have a wealth of local knowledge to help everyone, whether you want a pushchair-friendly walk or a strenuous hike. You'll also be able to get the latest local weather reports and safety advice. National park centres often include exhibitions and games, too.
